Sidney Volleyball Loses to Troy

The Sidney Lady Jackets put up a fight in the third set, but could not pull off the win and fell to Troy 25-10, 25-12, 26-24.

Arielle Snider battled for 8 kills at the net, and Emily Tolbert and Ally Spangler each added 4. Snider recorded 2 solo blocks. Payton Boshears led the defense with 15 digs and Allie Herrick picked up 9. Abby Nuss served 2 aces. Carrie Nuss directed the offense with 18 assists, setting 79-of-81.

The Jackets fall to 8-4 in the GWOC American Division and 12-6 overall.

The junior varsity Jackets earned a hard fought three set win over the Trojans, 25-23, 17-25, 25-19.

Faith Bockrath, Ashlynh Duong, and Lea Baldwin each served 3 aces. Darien McBride knocked down 8 kills and Makali Gibson followed up with 6. McBride also tallied 2 solo blocks. Bockrath led the defense with 12 digs and Baldwin and Duong each scrapped for 8. Bockrath totalled 20 assists, setting 53-of-53.

The Jackets return to action Friday night when they travel down I-75 for another GWOC contest at Tippecanoe.
